Welcome!

The Living Roots Foundation is a non‑profit civil society organisation based in Shillong, established in March 2025 to advance sustainability, peace, and democratic participation across North‑East India. The Foundation is further registered with Niti Aayog (Government of India)

The Foundation's legal status as a non-profit allows it to operate in an independent manner while advancing its mission of sustainable, participatory change.

About

We work at the intersection of policy, community action, and human rights—bridging local knowledge with global expertise to deliver practical solutions. As an implementation partner, research hub, and advocacy platform, the Foundation combines rigorous policy engagement with grassroots initiatives to strengthen resilience, empower youth, and uphold human rights in the region.
